Stetser Elizabeth Cornwell Stetser, 102, of Wiscasset, died Saturday, December 22, at a Brunswick Hospital. She was the eldest daughter of Eppa Luther and Portia Smith Cornwell of Manassas, Virginia. Mrs. Stetser (Betty) was an active member of the Girl Scouts of America, in Delaware County and Tully Memorial Presbyterian Church in Sharon Hill, Penn., for more than 50 years. She spent many hours working with the Gettysburg Women's League and other community organizations. In 1996 she moved to Alna. She was active in the Wiscasset Senior Center, Wiscasset First Congregational Church and the Organ Society. In the past, she has been active in Grange, Lincoln Club and until the last few years, worked with the Miles Memorial Rummage Sale. Survivors include her daughter, Janet Elizabeth Stetser of Alna; one grandson, Keith Andrew Haaf and his wife Christina; two great-grandsons, Derek Andrew Haaf and Davis Alexander Haaf, all of Batavia, Illinois. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 9, 2008, at First Congregational Church of Wiscasset with Rev. John Potter officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Maine Cancer Foundation, P.O. Box 553, Portland, ME 04112; the American Heart Association, 51 US Route 1, Suite M. She is survived by two sons, Al (Elaine) Sessions, Mobile County Treasurer, of Mobile and Lee (Elizabeth) Sessions, Mobile Teacher of Grand Bay, seven grandchildren, Apryl (Shawn) Kyzer of Starkville, MS, Hope (Christopher) Laird of Mobile, Matt Sessions of Mobile, William (Amber) Sessions, Amy Sessions and Ryan Sessions of Grand Bay, Tracy (Scott) Reed of Meridian, MS, six great-grandchildren, Alex Powers, Faith Laird, Christian Laird, Nicholas Sessions, Auburn Sessions and Davis Reed, one brother, Charles Hudson of Weymouth, MA, and many other relatives and friends to cherish her memory. A son, William Walter Barton Sessions, seven brothers and three sisters preceded Mrs. Sessions in death. Mrs. Sessions was an active member of First Baptist Church of Grand Bay for many years. She was also active with the Otha Merriweather Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, Grand Bay, for many years before it was inactivated. Pallbearers will be George Jackson, Mickey Sessions, Art Sessions, David Sessions, Brandon Welborn, Eugene Smith, Paul Pigorsch and Carl Pigorsch. Mrs. Robinson was preceded in death by her husband, James Robinson; and a sister, Libby Madden. She is survived by two sons, Adam (LaDana) Robinson of Castleberry, AL, and Jonathan Robinson of Castleberry, AL; three daughters, Teresa (Ryan) Burt of Millbrook, AL, Tracy (Phillip) Blackmon of Holtville, AL, and Ashley Weaver of Castleberry, AL; one brother, Tommy Tremer of Brewton, AL; three sisters, Betty Townson of Century, FL, Mary Louise Brawner of South Carolina, and Carolyn Keely of Cantonment, FL; and twelve grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, February 9, 2015 at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Craver's Funeral Home with Speaker, Claudia Langley officiating. Interment will follow at Cedar Creek Cemetery.
