- Dutch Fork Chapter: Early German Settlers of South Carolina — Background on the 1730–1766 colonial immigration wave Peter Hair's generation was part of.

- Dutch Fork (South Carolina Encyclopedia) — Historical context on the settlement pattern and land bounty grants that likely brought Peter Hair to Newberry County.
- FamilySearch Catalog: Hair Family of Barnwell County, SC — Compiled 1966 genealogy (DeHuff) on Peter Hair Sr. and descendants. Notes his origin as Ireland, Scotland, or Germany — still needs confirming against this tree's "Bavaria" record.
